Nottingham or Fulham, two-way battle over transfer of Hwang Ui-jo

-Nottingham Forest or Fulham? The English Premier League (EPL) club competition over the transfer of Hwang Ui-jo (Girongdaeng Bordeaux) has been compressed into two matches.

French sports magazine L’Equipe reported on the 13th (Korean time) that Nottingham Forest offered a transfer fee for Hwang Ui-jo, who is playing as a striker for the Korean national team. In addition, Get French Football News, a French soccer magazine, reported citing Requip, and Nottingham Forest News, a British local newspaper, also citing Get French News, reported that Nottingham Forest won the competition with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to reports, Nottingham offered £4.2 million ($6.6 million) including additional costs. It is said that Nottingham sent Bordeaux a proposal to pay an additional £800,000 (1.3 billion won) as an option along with 3.4 million pounds (5.4 billion won). At the same time, Hwang Ui-jo will go to England to undergo a medical test.

However, it is still too early to say that Nottingham has been confirmed as the final winner to sign Hwang Ui-jo. This is because the Daily Mail, a British daily newspaper, reported a different story.

The Daily Mail reports that Fulham are willing to pay £4m for Hwang Eui-jo and are competing with Nottingham.

However, Wolverhampton Wanderers, who were known to be interested in Hwang Ui-jo, were reportedly eliminated from the transfer competition. This is because Wolverhampton offered only £2 million (3.2 billion won) to sign Hwang Ui-jo, failing to meet the conditions of Bordeaux, who want more than £4 million.

For Ui-Jo Hwang, Nottingham and Fulham are both suitable teams. Since both teams were promoted from the League Championship (2nd Division) last season, they desperately need to strengthen their power.

However, since both teams have a main striker, Hwang Ui-jo should start the season as a backup striker. Fulham have Aleksandar Mitrovic, who scored two goals against Liverpool in the opening match of the first round. Nottingham also signed Taiu Aunii, a Nigerian who played for Union Berlin in the German Bundesliga last season, and has attacking resources such as Sam Surridge, Joe Raleigh and Lyle Taylor.
