“It’s amazing. It’s just skating and it’s so much fun.”
“Japanese snow is good”

From Kanagawa Prefecture
“The quality of the snow is excellent”

According to Akakura Onsen Ski Resort, due to the lack of snow this season, it only opened on the 23rd of last month, a week later than planned. After that, a large amount of snow fell at the end of last year, and ski resorts were expecting many people to visit during the New Year and this month’s three-day weekend. However, due to the effects of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, from the 1st of this month onward, reservations have been canceled one after another from group tourists in the Kanto area and other parts of Japan. The number of visitors is about 20% less than in previous years.

“The number of visitors has decreased compared to previous years due to concerns about earthquakes and transportation paralysis. People from the Kanto region tend to associate themselves with Hokuriku. Reservations are still being canceled.”

There is no need to worry about a lack of snow at ski resorts for the time being, and we are hopeful that the number of visitors will increase in the future.
