Messaging app WhatsApp has announced that it will no longer be possible to access the app on some phone models.
WhatsApp has reported that older phones will no longer support the app as new and updated versions of the devices are released every year.
It was stated that as of December 31, 49 smartphone models will no longer be able to access WhatsApp.
A WhatsApp spokesperson said: “To keep up with the latest in technology, we regularly discontinue support for older operating systems to divert our resources toward supporting the latest. If we discontinue support for your operating system, you will be prompted and reminded multiple times to update your device to continue using WhatsApp.” She said.
