“Nothing Will Stop Us” won an award at the Salerno International Film Festival
Riga, Dec. 28, LETA. Director Andris Gauja’s relationship drama “Nothing will stop us” has received an award at the Salerno International Film Festival, Kristīne Matīsa, a representative of the National Film Center (NCC), informed LETA.
Founded in 1946, the Salerno Festival is the second oldest film festival in Italy after the Venice Film Festival, and Latvia is represented in it for the first time. The Salerno Festival was held for the 74th time this year and for the first time online.
Gauja’s feature film “Nothing Will Stop Us” has won an award in the feature film competition program. Representatives of the film could not participate in the festival due to travel restrictions, therefore the prize figurine is currently traveling to Latvia by post.
According to the NKC representative, the film produced by the studio “Riverbed”, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, has entered the international circulation – the studio has signed an agreement with the international film distributor “Antidote Sales”, founded by Russian film critic and festival curator Anton Mazurov. The film has just been presented on the Argentine film market “Ventana Sur”, and the distributor has started negotiations with a number of foreign television channels.
At the heart of the film “Nothing Will Stop Us” is the story of music producer Ralph, who, due to his uncompromising nature, convinces his wife and lover to live in the same property, where his twelve-year-old daughter also lives. The experiment turns into a ruthless struggle for everyone’s own interests.
