Nothing will be the same on the Seven Rila Lakes

Measures are being outlined against the unregulated transport of tourists and goods to the Seven Rila Lakes during the beginning of the active circus season. This was said by the mayor of Saparava Banya Kalin Gelev, who hosted a meeting with the representatives of the involved units and institutions, quoted by BNR.

A second meeting is forthcoming on May 23 to determine the specific commitments and measures to control the movement of jeeps, ATVs and other equipment in the area.

The meeting in the Municipality of Sapareva Banya was attended by the head of the Regional Directorate of Forests in Kyustendil Eng. Zdravcho Todorov – the only road leading to the Seven Lakes is forest, there is a barrier and a pass regime, the director of Rila National Park Vladimir Milushev, the mayor of the municipality Kalin Gelev, representatives of the police station in the city.

A new meeting has been scheduled, to which representatives of the National Revenue Agency, the State Automobile Inspectorate, the Tourist Association and others have been invited.

An organization is being set up to stop jeep carriers who drive tourists and luggage to the lakes every summer for high fees and tariffs. But they cause damage along the route, disturb tourists, pollute.

Last year, during one of the police checks, the driver of a jeep ran over the legs of a police officer, and the incident reached the court.
