Nothing to do with the “NIKI” party

METROPOLITAN MAXIMOS

The Metropolitan of Ioannina has nothing to do with the Niki party, as presented on some websites, according to a new announcement he issued, stressing, among other things, that if the truth is not restored, he will take legal action.

It states in detail in the announcement:

Today, Friday, May 26, it became known to us that online channels www.pronews.gr and www.triklopodia.gr and on the dates 22.05.2023, time 20:47 and 23.05.2023, time 06:49 respectively, in the article entitled: “What is at stake in the June elections: The small parties that can “cut” the omnipotence of the ND and the “cushions””. reliefthe following are said verbatim regarding the “Niki” party: “It is a party which is represented by church organizations and by three Metropolitans, Piraeus, Larissa and Ioannina…”.

Since what is mentioned in the publication is completely false regarding the Holy Metropolis of Ioannina and the Metropolitan of Ioannina, we make the following known:

The Holy Metropolis and the Metropolitan of Ioannina have nothing to do with the party “NIKI”, neither with the President of the party, nor with its officials, in fact they don’t even know each other. The publication, as far as the specific information is concerned, is absolutely false.

The Metropolitan of Ioannina publicly declares that he considers this kind of clerical involvement anti-church and absolutely secular and condemnable. In other words, he considers, in simple words, the involvement of clergy in issues of promoting parties and party preferences as anti-church and one of the worst indicators of secularization.

For this reason we are sharing this with the Mass Media and we are asking the people in charge of the mediawww.pronews.gr and www.triklopodia.grwho published the above article to immediately correct the false information and publish the present.

Otherwise, we reserve the right to take the measures provided by the Law.
