The day, now in its second edition, was promoted by Roberta Giammara, Pink ambassador 2018, with the aim of supporting the Umberto Veronesi foundation and scholarships in the field of cancer research.
The participants took rumba, yoga and pilates lessons.
«It all started last year a bit for fun – comments Giammara -, the initiative was successful, they liked it, they asked me for it and Pergola made me available. This year we made t-shirts, a gadget with a biscuit sponsored by the Rosalina della Pergola pastry shop and a bookmark designed by me with the pink ambassadors’ motto “Nothing stops pink, nothing stops women”. This year we also involved the Asst breast unit, Dr. Emilia Marrazzo. This event must grow more and more.”
«I became an ambassador in 2018 following the prophylactic surgery to which I underwent, as already done by Angelina Jolie, having the Brca2 mutation, I was selected to participate in the “Pink is good” project, a team of women who after undergoing an oncology course decide to accept a challenge and tackle a half marathon. The aim is to get the message across that despite the illness we can go back to living stronger than before.”
