Nothing Phone (3a) to switch to Snapdragon, Nothing Phone (3) still nowhere to be seen

Nothing Inching Closer to a Trio of New Smartphones

Rumors are swirling about Nothing’s future phone lineup, and it appears the London-based company is preparing to unveil not one, but three new devices.

Adding fuel to the speculation fire, a recent Geekbench listing hinted at a new Nothing device potentially dubbed the Phone (3a) – though it now seems likely to be the Phone (3a) Plus. This device, which carries the model number A059, might be joined by its sibling, the Phone (3a), identified by an IMEI database listing (A059P) using the "Plus" notation Nothing has adopted.

Intriguingly, a third device with the model number A001 was also spotted in the IMEI database, leaving tech enthusiasts wondering if this could be the long-awaited Nothing Phone (3). However, speculation points towards this being the CMF Phone 2 instead.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Plus, as its name suggests, will be the more powerful sibling. Benchmark data indicates it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset – a departure from the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro found in its predecessor, the Nothing Phone (2a).

The standard Phone (3a) may also feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, although nothing is certain yet. Similarly, the CMF Phone 2 is also expected to use the same chipset.

While Nothing remains tight-lipped on specific details, it’s quite likely these unreleased devices running Android 15 will see the light of day within the next few months. "This year Nothing decided not to release a high-end device, but it did say it would eventually come out with one in 2025," said a Nothing representative. "Perhaps the Phone (3) will arrive in the second half of next year."

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus

The tech world will continue to wait with bated breath for official confirmation and details on Nothing’s exciting array of potential new smartphones. For now, all we can do is speculate and anticipate the next chapter in Nothing’s innovative story.
