I don’t think anything good has happened to Burgas outside of our administration.
This was stated by the leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov, who arrived in our city for a meeting with the participation of GERB coordinators, regional mayors and mayors of municipalities.
“Even now, when I was passing by on the way to Sunny Beach, I thought that he would never be in your conscious life, citizens of Burgas and guests of Sunny Beach. Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov was also present, who said that today’s meeting is very important for him, because Mr. Borisov’s presence at it gives stability and security to the party.
“TWe are people who are fully committed to the problems of our fellow citizens at an extremely important moment for our country. Four years of roadlessness, confusion and chaos created an awful lot of problems in local government. This year, with the adoption of Budget 2024, the GERB party approached all this in an extremely pragmatic way, giving the mayors the freedom to arrange and manage the priorities in their regions. It gave a ray of hope, but for a very short time. It turned out that the submitted three-year projects amount to almost BGN 6 billion, and there is BGN 400 million in the budget. This means that 1/3 of the projects will be implemented and 2/3 will not receive funding. We are now facing a spiral of payment difficulties, a fragmented and unbalanced municipal budget, which will affect every municipalityNikolov also shared.
He was categorical, GERB is the most responsible party, which not only does not split, but also supports the leader and the national leadership, the local government and after the elections they come out stronger.
He called on GERB to show not only unity, but also strength and pragmatism, because people are tired of deadlock, difficulties and lack of control.
“The political firmament now offers swarming, division and centrifugal forces of who will stand where. There is no such thing with us and I am convinced that with honor and dignity each of us will face the challenges of the parliamentary vote and we will achieve a result that has not happened in the last 4 years”he said.
According to him, a successful season will end this year on the Southern Black Sea coast.
“I want to thank for the support with compensations for the high price of electricity for restaurateurs and hoteliers. We can safely tell people that the money will be refunded” the mayor also shared.
