Note! Starting Tomorrow, Riding KRL Can Show Vaccine Certificates

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – KAI Comuter will issue a certificate vaccine as a condition for using KRL starting Wednesday (8/9/2021). This is in accordance with the Circular Letter from the Task Force for Handling Covid-19 of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2021 concerning Changes in Travel Provisions for Domestic People During the Covid-19 Pandemic, dated September 6, 2021.

Vaccine certificates can be shown to officers through the PeduliLindung application, or physically (printed), or digitally in the form of photo files. The officer will also ask the user to show an ID card or other identity to be matched with the vaccine certificate. The vaccine certificate received is at least the first dose of vaccine certificate.

“Furthermore, starting on Saturday (11/9/2021), travel documents, namely STRP, assignment letter, employment certificate, and letters from the local government are no longer valid as a requirement to ride the KRL because they must show a vaccine certificate,” said VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter. Anne Purba in a press release received by CNBC Indonesia today.

Vaccine certificates as a condition for using KRL are valid for the Jabodetabek Commuter Line KRL, Yogyakarta – Solo KRL, Prambanan Express (Kutoarjo – Yogyakarta PP), and Local Trains operated by KAI Commuter.

Users who have not been vaccinated for medical reasons, such as Covid-19 survivors, can show an official certificate from a doctor at the Puskesmas or Hospital regarding their condition. With the appropriate certificate, these users can still use KRL services.

“Especially for users who want to use the PeduliLindung application, we ask to download the application before arriving at the station and make sure the application on the cellphone can function normally. Users can then scan the QR code at the station entrance area with the application to perform check in. If the vaccination requirements are appropriate, you will see a green color when you do it check in. Arriving at the destination station, users do not need to do check out“Kata Anne.

He also appealed to users to always prepare vaccine certificates in printed or digital form as an anticipation when the application cannot be used. Currently, the stations that have not been able to serve check-in with this application are Duri Station, Cilebut Station, UI Station, and Sawah Besar Station as well as all stations in the Yogyakarta – Solo KRL area, and Kutoarjo. At these stations, all of the vaccine certificates are checked through physical or digital printed certificates while still showing an identity card.

Furthermore, Anne said KAI Commuter operations and services are running normally with 983 trips per day starting at 04.00-22.00 WIB. If it is observed that there is a potential for overcrowding of users, the KAI Commuter will also engineer the operation pattern to serve stations that are starting to become crowded.

To anticipate overcrowding on the trains, officers will conduct insulation if conditions at the station or on the KRL are in accordance with the quota. To avoid potential queues, users can view density information at stations through the KRL Access application or use KRL outside peak hours.

Anne added, KAI Commuter continues to implement health protocols by requiring the use of double masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands before and after boarding the train. Additional rules that existed during this pandemic also remain in effect.

These additional rules include not speaking while on the train, elderly and users with large luggage are only allowed to use the KRL from 10:00 – 14:00 or outside peak hours, and children under five are temporarily not allowed to ride the KRL. For school students who have not entered the age of vaccination, they can still use the KRL by showing a certificate from the school for face-to-face learning.

“Despite this change in travel conditions, we invite users to remain disciplined in following health protocols and all applicable rules. Because we are still in a period of activity restriction, we also invite users to maximize their activities from home as much as possible,” said Anne.
