Note, 149 people in Lumajang experience chronic kidney failure – PANTURA7.com

Lumajang– A total of 149 residents in Lumajang Regency experienced chronic kidney failure. This data was recorded in 2024.

Lumajang P2KB Health Office Acting Secretary, Erwan Budisantoso, noted that as many as 77 men were suffering from kidney failure, while another 72 were suffering from women.

“The number of people suffering from chronic kidney failure can be known based on data from hospital patients who regularly receive dialysis. “So, 149 is cumulative data,” he said when contacted by phone, Wednesday (9/10/24).

Erwan said, most people experience chronic kidney failure in old age. Because, if someone is in old age, the ability of the kidneys to filter the body’s toxins decreases significantly.

“Sudden renal failure usually does not look like acute kidney failure. “Victims are usually not mentioned and are only discovered a month after being attacked or even for years at most,” he said.

This is different from acute kidney failure which can be cured with certain treatments. Meanwhile, sufferers of chronic kidney failure cannot be cured and are still dependent on regular dialysis.

If someone with chronic kidney failure does not receive dialysis regularly, it can have fatal consequences. Because, if you don’t have regular dialysis, toxins will accumulate in the human body and attack other organs such as the heart.

“You have to do dialysis regularly, otherwise the poison builds up and attacks the heart,” he explained.
