More and more often, citizens of Russia and Belarus face the situation that notaries in Latvia refuse to approve real estate transactions and issue authorizations for the sale of real estate in Latvia, Russia and Belarus.
Many citizens of Russia and Belarus decided to sell their real estate after February 24, 2022. Some wanted to sell their house or apartment in Latvia, others wanted to sell their property in Russia. The reasons for this were different. Someone urgently needed money for daily expenses or for the purchase of accommodation (in Europe or, conversely, in Russia), someone was no longer allowed to cross the national border.
