In this new Netflix series we follow Dan Turner. He doesn’t have the most exciting life as an archivist, but a new job changes that. He is asked to restore a collection of 1994 fire-damaged video tapes. Sounds like a routine job, but it certainly isn’t.
Netflix caters to thriller fans
There is something special about the videotapes in this Netflix series. Dan Turner is therefore not allowed to take them with him, but has to investigate what it says on location. However, that location is not a cozy place, but an old archive building. Not the nicest place to work, but what’s on the videotapes is even more terrifying.
The videotapes were from Melody Pendras. She was a documentary filmmaker investigating a dangerous cult. It’s up to Dan Turner to repair the tapes and reconstruct Melody’s investigation. However, this is not without risks, because the danger is not only on the video tapes.
Good reviews for Archive 83
A Netflix series about evil video tapes may not sound very exciting, but then you are wrong. According to the first reviews Archive 83 well worth it. Especially the strong structure and daring way of storytelling are mentioned as strong points. This new Netflix Original takes some classic thriller/horror ingredients and gives them a successful new twist.
