Not true! How old is the oldest woman in the world – 2024-03-04 21:45:05

It is hard to imagine how old she became the oldest woman in the world.

Maria Branias Morera celebrates her 117th birthday today. Maria was confirmed as the oldest person in the world in January 2023, Guinness World Records recalled.

Maria was born on March 4, 1907 in San Francisco, USA, but returned to Spain with her family when she was eight to settle in Catalonia.

Since then, she has lived in the region, and has lived in a nursing home for 23 years.

Maria is happy to be able to celebrate with her family and friends this special day and wishes everyone a very happy Monday, the Residence Santa Maria del Tura said.

At the age of 23, Maria married the doctor Joan Moret, with whom they had three children, eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She survived three wars – the First and Second World Wars, as well as the Spanish Civil War.

Until the age of 105, despite her age, the centenarian maintains an active life, playing the piano, reading newspapers and even doing a little gymnastics every morning.

At the age of 113, in 2020, she learned of a new and historically significant event: the COVDI-19 pandemic. She gets infected herself, but she gets through it without symptoms. Maria Branias Morera became the oldest person to survive COVID-19 until the day 116-year-old (then) Lucille Randon tested positive and became the record holder, Darrick reported.
