As New York Mayor Bill de Blasio announced, it has not snowed as much in the city since January 2016 as in the past few days. New York is slowly returning to everyday life shaped by the coronavirus.
So-called “outdoor dining” is now allowed again. Some of the protective walls and tents set up in front of the restaurants were destroyed in the snow storm or by the masses of snow. Guests were not allowed to be entertained inside, even during the storm. Temperatures were below freezing for days. A restaurant operator explained CBSthat he can understand that in such cold weather hardly any guests want to eat outside.
Virtually all streets in New York City had to be cleared of snow. Since many work in the home office, there are currently hardly any commuters into the city. Mountains of snow piled up along the traffic routes, there was talk of “walls of snow”.
