“Now the most interested ones are monstera, caladium, pink princess, the prices are high because they are pink, and when they are old one leaves are shaped into 3.Philodendrum pink princesses have a high price,” said Azis, an ornamental plant trader in Bogor to detikcom, Sunday (27/9/2020).

However, the price did not soar to tens of millions like Monstera Variegata.

“The pink princess is Rp. 2 million, at most 3 or 4 leaves,” said Azis.

Besides philodendrum pink princess, aglonema ornamental plants such as lipstick, rinjani, and so on are also being hunted. Contacted separately, Ahyar, an ornamental plant trader in West Jakarta, said the plants could be sold for up to Rp 5 million.

“If the tree is full, sepot, there is Rp. 5 million. Yes it depends on the tree. Aglonema is the dominant one to red,” said Ahyar.

During the ‘fever’ of ornamental plants, Ahyar admitted that he always ran out of stock of his plants. Therefore, he also has to hunt for ornamental plants for nurseries, then sell them back.

“If I do not have a nursery, so I also hunt them to Bogor, mainly to the bushes in the villages, there are times when I can,” he concluded.
