Not only COVID-19, this disease is no less deadly

VIVA – Deputy for Human Development, Community and Culture of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Dr. Ir. Subandi, MSc., said that Indonesia still has big problems related to health and nutrition.

He further said that the Government is currently really trying to reduce the three main problems related to health and nutrition. Anything?

“First, the maternal mortality rate is still high,” he said at the launch of the Sustainability Initiative ‘Small Step Big Impact’, by PZ Cussons with Kick Andy Foundation & Bank DKI (JakOne Artri), which was held virtual, Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

Then, the second problem is disease Tuberculosis (TB). Subandi revealed, the prevalence of this disease is also quite high and no less deadly.

“Our TB is also still high. So, it’s not only COVID-19 that causes death. The death rate from this (TB) is also high. But this is a silent killer, it doesn’t appear on the surface, especially to children,” he said.
