Florida and Texas contributed the most Covid cases in the US. The two states account for about two-thirds of the daily cases in the superpower.

The condition of health facilities in Florida and Louisiana is reported to be increasingly concerning. This high infection rate has led to full inpatient rooms and the latest warnings about the massive spread of the virus.

More than 10,000 patients were hospitalized in Florida on Sunday. This surpassed the state’s record which had been at the level of 2,000 in the past 30 days.

“This is a much younger age group being hospitalized,” said Mary Mayhew, head of the Florida Hospitals Association. Reuters.

In Louisiana, the health facility is expected to break its record within 24 hours. This is driven by low vaccination in the state that houses the city of New Orleans.

“These are the darkest days of this pandemic,” said Dr. Catherine O’Neal, chief medical officer of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
