It is known that in the midst of the spread of this pandemic virus, experts are trying to find a vaccine.
However, this time the vaccine being tested by British scientists is different than any other.
Instead of testing the vaccine by injection, scientists in the UK are testing the Corona Virus vaccine by inhalation.
As quoted from The Independent, Friday (18/09/2020), scientists tested a pair of leading vaccine candidates to see if they could work better when inhaled.
The trial was carried out by researchers at Imperial College London to test the vaccine it is developing and the one currently being developed by researchers at Oxford University.
Clinical trial participants will receive an inoculation of the vaccine that is inhaled by mouth.
The inhalation method for the Corona Virus vaccine trial, as reported by the BBC, was carried out on a small group of participants, namely about 30 healthy volunteers.
Vaccines are given in the form of smoke or mist, much like asthma medications that are given via a nebuliser.
Prof. Robin Shattok, who led research on the Imperial vaccine, added that a number of research groups around the world are currently working on clinical trials for the Covid-19 vaccine.
