Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati congratulated the celebration of Eid al-Fitr for all Muslim communities who celebrate it. The minister said there would be no homecoming gathering for Sri Mulyani’s family this year, as quoted on her Instagram.
In this statement, he did not forget to also convey that all people must be patient, including himself. This is because the tradition that has always been carried out on holidays must be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It has become a tradition, Eid is a special moment to gather with the whole family. However, it has been two years since the tradition was stopped by the pandemic,” Sri Mulyani was quoted as saying from the Instagram account posted on Thursday (13/5/2021).
According to him, this situation must be difficult for all communities, especially those who are or live far from their families.
“Longing to meet family is certainly a very tough trial for those who are separated from their parents, family and friends,” he said.
However, he asked the public to be patient and be able to endure all these longs. So that later the handling of the pandemic can be resolved more quickly.
Therefore, he hopes that for now people can use technology to make friendship with family or friends.
“Even though we only met virtually, but with a sincere heart, God willing, it will not reduce the value and meaning of the Eid celebration. Everything is done to protect each other so that we can fight Covid-19,” he explained.
