Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Indonesia is estimated to have the largest oil and gas potential in the world driven by the discovery of oil and gas potential from the Andaman II area which is operated by Premier Oil. And then in Andaman III by Repsol which is expected to find similar results.
In the Andaman Block I, Premier Oil discovered oil and gas reserves through the drilling of the Timpan-1 well with the potential for oil and gas resources reaching an average of around 6 Trillion Cubic Feet (TCF). But it doesn’t stop there, the potential of Andaman II can be even greater, because the findings have only carried out drilling on one structure, while the Andaman II Block has 10 structures.
“In Andaman II itself, there are 10 structures, only one well has been found, of which the estimated reserves are 1.5 trillion cubic feet (TCF),” Dwi told CNBC Indonesia in Energy Corner, Monday (25/7/2022) .

Dwi hopes that the Andaman II Block will be a big find in the future, after later discovering reserves in other structures. In addition, he also put his hopes in Andaman I and Andaman II.
According to Dwi, to go to the stage of the development plan or commonly called Plan of Development (POD), at least Premier Oil needs to drill two more wells in the Andaman II Block.
Director General of Oil and Gas (Directorate General of Oil and Gas), Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tutuka Ariadji said the Andaman region could possibly be included in the area. giant discovery which has the potential to become the world’s largest discovery of oil and gas reserves. “The Andaman III block is by Repsol, if we meet this, it could be a big discovery in the world. If we meet there, it will spread to Thailand because the direction is there, it would be extraordinary if there was,” he said.
Tutuka said that the resource potential for the Andaman II Block itself is around 6 . on average Trillion Cubic Feet (TCF). He is also optimistic that the resource potential of the Andaman III Block will not be far from the potential of Andaman II.
“Now discovery this is nothing big. If he later met Besar (Andaman). This will be drilled after the Timpan (Andaman II) well, one day we will see the Rencong (Andaman III) well,” he said.
