Not even the Star Wars Outlaws boxed set can do without the Internet » Vortex

On Tuesday, after the leak, we got the official announcement of the release date of the Star Wars Outlaws game, along with a new story trailer. We alerted you to this yesterday and added information about the launch of pre-orders and an overview of available editions. In addition, we received another message that will be of particular interest to those who still prefer classic boxes to digital distribution and do not want to give them up.

Even the physical version will require an internet connection for installation. The warning appears on the front of the packaging for the console versions, as can be seen in stores, for example GameStop a Best Buy (via VGC). It’s not clear why this is needed, but it was the same with Ubisoft’s physical versions of Avatar. The title Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora did not do without the Day 1 patch, which had to be downloaded and the game needed to be online at least once.

Although the installation will require the Internet, the game can be played offline, a Ubisoft representative confirmed to the magazine IGN.

You can find more information about the different editions in yesterday’s news. It’s worth noting that officially the game is released on August 30, but with gold and the ultimate version you can play three days earlier.
