FIX INDONESIA – People with venereal diseases increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. This was revealed by the Community of Dermatology and Venereology Specialists alumni of FK (Faculty of Medicine) Unpad, Skin17DR.
According to Skin17DR, a sharp increase in people with other diseases during the Covid-19 pandemic, one of which occurred in the Regency Karawang.
“The increase was twofold before the outbreak of the corona virus,” said Fitra Hergyana, a specialist in skin and genitalia at the Hospital Karawang who is also a member Skin17DR, Sunday, November 8, 2020.
The patients were generally single or unmarried, experienced genital ulcers, swollen testicles, and even pus from the genitals to the anus.
It is strongly suspected that single men channel their saturation through commercial sex workers (CSWs), when they are prohibited from traveling long distances.
He explained, before the pandemic took place, a patient with venereal disease visited the hospital Karawang around six people per month. But during a pandemic it could be 15 people per month.
