Manchester United reportedly does not make Antonio Conte main choice if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fired. The Red Devils are said to prefer Mauricio Pochettino.
United are considering continuing to hire Solskjaer. The 0-5 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday (10/24/2021) was the cause.
The defeat made Solskjaer’s insistence on stepping down from his position strengthen. Supporters are calling for the hashtag #OleOut for Solskjaer to step down.
The names of his successors were circulated. From Zinedine Zidane to Conte are the candidates.
Zidane reportedly turned down the offer to coach. While Conte is open to returning to coach in England, having served as Chelsea’s tactician in 2016-2018.
However, there is news that MU also seems to be less comfortable with Manchester United. Daily Star said, MU is still more interested in recruiting Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino was rumored to be the manager of Manchester United, since he was still a career at Tottenham Hotspur. The Argentine coach is currently in charge of Paris Saint-Germain in France.
With PSG, Pochettino can present the French Cup and French Super Cup titles. However, he failed to bring Kylian Mbappe et al retain the Ligue 1 trophy, after replacing Thomas Tuchel.
There are even claims that Solskjaer was initially only an interim manager after Manchester United sacked Jose Mourinho, before switching to Manchester United Mauricio Pochettino. Manchester United’s victory over PSG in the Champions League in 2019 finally gave Solskjaer permanent status.
Pochettino’s name is also said to have been approved by Sir Alex Ferguson. The legendary Manchester United manager was also impressed by Pochettino’s coaching style.
So far, United are said to have given Solskjaer a chance first. The next three matches, namely against Tottenham Hotspur, Atalanta, and Manchester City, are said to be the match to determine the Norwegian man.
