After filing a complaint against Laval University (UL) with the Human Rights Commission of Quebec and Canada for his exclusion, as a “heterosexual white man”, from a call for applications for the position of Holder of the Canada Research Chair (CRC) in History, Professor Frédéric Bastien is now addressing the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. At issue: the self-identification form that accompanied the call for candidates.
