Not all schools will open again as of today

Schools in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district can open again from today. Because the state announced that there would be alternating classes very late on Friday evening, some schools in our district are still offering distance classes at least today. Parents are best informed on the school’s homepage. Daycare centers open in limited regular operation.

After weeks of homeschooling, the schools in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district can switch to alternating classes again from today. With certain hygiene concepts such as two corona tests per week, schools can open to all classes. The NRW Ministry of Health announced this on Friday evening after the federal emergency brake came into force. Since the notification came very late, some schools in our district still have distance learning announced at least today. Parents are best informed about the current form of teaching on the school’s homepage. Due to the incidence of more than 100, but below 165 in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district, daycare centers are now subject to restricted regular operation. In other words, there are ten less hours of care per week. Unlike before, however, there is no longer an appeal not to bring the children to daycare if possible. If the incidence in our district rises to over 165 on 3 consecutive days, distance teaching and demand-oriented emergency operation in the daycare centers apply again from the day after next, according to the rules of the federal emergency brake. Parents then have to declare in writing that they have no other possibility of care.

Further information on the currently applicable rules by the federal emergency brake is also available on the Side of the federal government and the Side of the country as well as the Website of the NRW Ministry of Education.
