The BABH starts inspections in all animal breeding sites, they announced yesterday in Plovdiv during the training campaign on the interventions under the Strategic Plan and the payment of area and animals.
Regarding the measure known as measure 14 for humane treatment to animals, which has already been upgraded as a welfare intervention and antimicrobial resistancethe experts explained that during the inspections they will ask the owners for the vaccination plan drawn up by the veterinarian. It will be checked purely administratively whether the requested vaccines have been administered.
If until last year assistance for animal welfare applied to the entire herd on a farm basis, antimicrobial resistance could only be applied to certain animals, the experts pointed out.
“It is not possible for all the animals you have claimed to participate in a particular vaccination campaign. In Ordinance No. 10, the diseases for which certain categories of animals must be vaccinated are shown, but this requirement already applies to specific animals as well,” they specified during the training.
