There is little doubt that CLMD-Martin Danielle and fiancee Alexandra Backström have a lot to keep their fingers on at the moment.
In January, the couple could say that they had bought a new house and were in full swing with renovations, and last summer they were able to welcome their second child into the world. In addition, Danielle is an artist, with all that comes with it.
Good news
This spring, he is again relevant with new music, and the first song “Bounce” is about falling in love.
– The inspiration comes from real life, so I want to dedicate this song to Alexandra, there’s no doubt about that. But I hope it’s a song many people can identify with, it’s a declaration of love after all.
He himself met his fiancee in slightly “forbidden” surroundings.
This is how they met
– We met when she worked in the music industry, I was also booked by them. It wasn’t really legal, but that’s the way it is sometimes, Danielle admits.
– We met at Hemsedal of all places, and it was actually a bit half-hearted on my part. I was also going to have a concert, so I asked a booker if he could ask her to bring the girls to the office and come there. I was relatively newly single and thought it would be nice to be visited by lots of girls at the cabin.

Fast forward eight years and Backström and Danielle are still lovers, or rather: engaged. They are the parents of two small boys and have bought a house in Stabekk. So even though it may not have been completely in the beginning, it seems that it has worked out very well for the duo.
Now renovation is on the plan.
– We run and build a music studio in the house, and it’s something I’ve been looking forward to and dreaming about for years. Just the opportunity to work at home allows me to be around my family more, and that’s something I’m looking forward to.
The plan is to refurbish the entire main floor, change the floor, walls and kitchen. In the future, the dream is also to take the baths, but they are not stressing about that for now.
– We are getting close to being ready to move in, and so far there haven’t been that many scary surprises. Right now we live a bit like nomads and live a bit with our in-laws, a bit at the cabin and a bit everywhere. Where there is room.
Artist and father of young children: – Challenging
Danielle is the father of Alf (3) and Victor (8 months), and makes no secret of the fact that having children greatly changes the everyday life of an artist.
– I felt a little of the anxiety
– In my job, you don’t relate so much to an eight to four working day and the standardization there, but you are quickly drawn into it with regard to daycare and things like that.
– How do you think it is to juggle the role of artist and the role of father of small children?
– It’s very challenging, and I think it’s something most artists know about. You don’t have a normal everyday life at all, and every day is different, so combining the two roles can be difficult.
He still believes that family life has made him more efficient once he is at work, and although it can be boring to have to interrupt when they are in the middle of a “flow” because he has to pick up from the nursery.
– Full-time dad
It is a well-known expression that one is one, while two are ten when it comes to children, but the father of two does not agree with that.
– I think the transition from having no one but yourself to think about, to having a small child, is much bigger. When number two comes, you are more equipped and know what you are doing, while with the first person you can’t do anything.
Reveals engagement
He himself does not hide the fact that he enjoys being a father.
– I love it, I just wish I had more time. It’s the perpetual time crunch, and it’s not pleasant for anyone. I actually wish I could be a full-time dad all the time, and put work away. It is an absolutely fantastic experience.
– But I’m no stranger to realizing how lucky I am to be able to make a living from my hobby, so I have to take care of that too. It is not a given that you can do music professionally for as long as I have.
Now he uses as much time as he can with his family, and luckily he shares an interest with his son Alf.
– Eldstemann is incredibly fond of golf, and so am I. I don’t understand where he gets it from, but he hits the balls much better than me.
– Is it a future Viktor Hovland we have here?
– It wouldn’t have been completely wrong, laughs Danielle.
