Not a victory, but a devastating defeat! Presented “revived” GAZ-M20 “Victory” – the network is furious

A possible “novelty” has nothing to do with the Soviet legend, except for the nameplate on the hood.

If you do not take a closer look, it may seem that in front of us is nothing more than a Porsche Panamera. The luxurious British coupe clearly became a source of inspiration for the independent designer, who demonstrated his own vision of how the GAZ-M20 Pobeda should be “reborn”.

According to the author of the project, he wanted to preserve the recognizable lines of the Soviet fastback, but at the same time give the GAZ-M20 “Victory” from the “future” futuristic features so that the Russians could see how classic and futurism look harmoniously. However, in reality, there was nothing left of the old “Victory”: the general outline of the silhouette and the radiator grille, which nevertheless does not look 100% similar to the classics.

The rest of the tuning project repeats the decisions of Porsche designers. Complex lines of the bumper echo the original sidewalls, the rear optics on the LEDs became concise, so as not to shift attention from the GAZ-M20 Pobeda body, and the trunk door, thanks to the increased tilt angle, looks like the car is about to take off.

As the author of the custom explained, for such a car only the rear-wheel drive layout is provided and in no other way, since it would be difficult to lighten the stern with the leading front part. Russian motorists appreciated the virtual concept negatively, if not cruder.

Commentators on the network were furious, realizing that an independent designer of their own free will for the legendary “Victory” decided to use the Porsche Panamera design ideas, instead of thinking about how to modernize the classic GAZ-M20. The result was not a victory, but rather a devastating defeat, the drivers are sure: “I am ashamed to show such a victory to people, a complete copy of the West”, “Porsche is beautiful, but where is the Victory?”
