NOS Jeugdjournaal is a favorite youth program and wins the Zapp Award

It NOS Youth News has won the Zapp Award for favorite youth program. Singer Famke Louise made that during a show tonight live show known. Other nominees were the scripted reality youth series Bridging class and the experiment program Checkpoint.

Jeugdjournaal presenter Joris Marseille received the prize and thanked all viewers for voting. “We won thanks to you!” In total around 22,000 votes were cast.

The program has been providing the news for children between the ages of around 9 and 12 for almost 40 years. Nowadays it is broadcast seven days a week and is active online and on social media. The YouTube channel has more than 450,000 subscribers.

“We have been around for a long time and will stay a very long time,” said Marseille at the award show. “You still choose us as your favorite. That is really great!”

More Zapp Awards were presented during the award ceremony. Presenter Buddy Vedder was chosen as favorite star, Piece TV was crowned the favorite YouTuber and Chateau Meiland received the prize for favorite family program.

In addition to prizes for programs and Dutch celebrities, there was also an award for a child that is selflessly committed to another and thus makes the world a better place. The so-called Veer-In-Je-Reet Award went to Liam Kruijt, because he plays games with elderly people in care homes every Wednesday.
