NOS investigates alleged ‘grooming’ by its own reporter | Inland

“We see the messages here on Twitter about our reporter,” wrote the editor-in-chief of the NOS on the social medium on Wednesday afternoon. “This is a complex and delicate topic for all concerned. It has our full attention. ”

The accusations against the radio reporter followed shortly after D66 MP Sidney Smeets was also accused of grooming on Tuesday evening. For example, he would have proposed to young boys to ‘cuddle amicably’.

The ball started rolling when freelance journalist Rowan Geleijnse shared his experiences with the reporter. BNN University alumnus Deniz Alkac wrote that he was warned about the radio reporter when he had to collaborate on an item.

At the NOS he was involved with youth topics, such as the activities of the National Action Committee for School Students. In recent years he was also regularly involved in the introduction camp of the Fontys Hogeschool in Tilburg for new journalism students.

Just like Sidney Smeets, the NOS reporter was very active on social media for years. In the summer of 2020, it was revealed that he had deleted all of his accounts for unknown reasons.
