A 15-year-old boy was arrested in the entertainment area of Renesse last night. According to the police, the boy had hit a catering boss and threatened an officer with a knife. Moreover, he turned out to be free under conditions.
Officers heard noise in the street around 1:30 a.m. When they went to take a look, they saw that a group of young people was causing a nuisance. “One of the young people immediately stood out because he was shouting,” the police said.
Investigation showed that the 15-year-old boy from Oosterland had just been involved in a disturbance on a terrace of a catering establishment. A security guard wanted to remove him from the terrace, but the boy refused and tried to hit the security guard. The owner of the business was also beaten, writes Broadcasting Zeeland.
When supervisors approached, the boy attempted to punch and kick an enforcer, according to police. Their car was damaged as a result.
Not kept to the agreements
It also became clear that the boy was free under conditions. This means that he is suspected of a criminal offense or has received a suspended sentence, but does not have to remain in jail provided he adheres to a number of agreements.
According to the police, he turned out not to have kept to those agreements, after which he was taken to the police station. During the arrest, the boy also resisted and tried to stab an officer with a knife.
With the help of a supervisor from the municipality, the agents were eventually able to overpower him. The boy is detained in the cell for investigation and interrogation. Both the catering manager and the agent have filed a report.
