On Norway, some women report that their breast size has increased after receiving the coronavirus vaccine from Pfizer, an effect that, according to experts, may be associated with swollen lymph nodes.
The Norwegian State Broadcasting Corporation (NRK, Norsk rikskringkasting), broadcast the testimonies of young people who noticed an increase in size; however specialists such as Heinrich Backmann, chief physician at the Nordland Hospital Breast Diagnostic Center in Bodø, said: “We have seen that some women have larger and more visible lymph nodes on the side that has seen the syringe.”
He explained that “it is a way for the body to deal with inflammation or infections.” Furthermore, he said, “the effect is short-lived. Only after a few weeks do the knots return to normal.”
He also recommended that if women plan to have a mammography, do it before they have been vaccinated or wait up to four weeks after the injection.
Steinar Madsen, medical director of the Norwegian Agency for Medicines, according to NRK, explained: “When you get vaccinated, maybe 10% will have swollen lymph nodes in the armpit. You can push the breasts forward a little and you can have the feeling that they have been enlarged. “

Madsen concluded: “If the question is whether women should be concerned, the answer is probably no. But if you have swollen lymph nodes for a long time or notice lumps in your breast, of course you should go to the doctor to get it checked out.”
