The crisis in the team of Polish ski jumpers continues to deepen. Another proof of this were the Monday qualifications for the next competition Four Hills Tournament in Innsbruck. The best of our players was Andrzej Stękała, who took only 18th place. But that wasn’t the worst of it.

Out of six Polish jumpers, five advanced to the competition, and perhaps looking at the attitude of our team this season, there would be nothing surprising about it. The problem is that the only player without promotion to the Tuesday competition is Kamil Stoch, who has been the best in the team so far.

Crisis Kamil Stoch he showed himself especially during the 4-Hills-Tournament. The three-time Olympic champion had made mistakes before, but despite this he managed, among other things, to stand on the podium in Engelberg. Now, however, first there was a problem with the promotion to the second series, and finally even to the competition. So on Monday evening a decision was made to withdraw Stoch from the German-Austrian competition.

They cannot believe it, however, not only Polish, but also Norwegian media. The journalists there admit that they saw the Poles as the main rivals in this year’s fight, but suddenly something completely incomprehensible happened. – The fact that Kamil Stoch did not even qualify for the competition in Innsbruck and was withdrawn from the tournament must be like a slap in the face for a nation that is simply crazy about ski jumping. We were most afraid of him, but he turned out to be not our most dangerous rival, but Ryoyu Kobayashi – according to the daily “Dagbladet”.
The Nettavisen portal assessed the Polish jumpers in a similar tone. – The disposition of Polish jumpers is so surprising to us that it is incomprehensible. Kamil Stoch, who won all four competitions in the 2017/18 season, is together with Kobayashi and Sven Hannawald, who also made this play, one of the three kings in the 70-year history of the event. Suddenly he is not even a shadow of himself, we read.
The start of the competition in Innsbruck on Tuesday is scheduled for 13:30.
