Norwegian Women’s Relay Shooting Incident Results in Tenth Place Finish

See the Norwegian shooting incident in the clip at the top of the article.

Norway’s ladies were in the fight for the relay gold after two legs. Then Ida Lien and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold shot five penalty rounds. Tandrevold missed all five basic shots in the final shot. She managed to score two of the extra shots, but the three penalty rounds were a fact.

– Ingrid went for it, she tried, that’s the only thing we can ask for, today it didn’t pay off, but maybe it makes her even tougher and makes her succeed next time, says Karoline Knotten after the race.

16 extra shots and five penalty rounds were the final result for Norway’s relay ladies. It was enough for a tenth place.

Ida Lien’s shooting percentage during the championship is 61 percent after today’s relay.

– It is incredibly sad what is happening with Ida there. It hurts to watch. We know she does her best, but then she fails. It hurts, says Juni Arnekleiv NRK.

Sweden came second after France, Germany came third.
