Norway TODAY Hanvold is said to have been in an artificial coma for about a week.

After he was woken up by the doctors, the 72-year-old must have been disconnected from the machines that kept his heart going. Now the doctors have considered it prudent to send Hanvold home to Norway by air ambulance.

Vision Norway has previously written that a surgical intervention was carried out at the hospital in Minneapolis in the state of Minnesota, before the doctors decided to put Hanvold in an artificial coma.

Hanvold was already admitted to the hospital when he had the heart attack. This may have probably saved his life, according to the man’s relatives.

– It was a fantastic experience

His wife, Inger Hanvold (55), has said on social media that the ventilator was removed and replaced with a breathing mask when her husband was awakened from a coma. He must have responded to questions from doctors and immediate family.

– There was a rapid improvement in his condition. It was a wonderful experience for those who were present, doctors and family, wrote Visjon Norge on its website.

The 72-year-old is being flown by ambulance from Minneapolis to Gardermoen. The plane is expected to land on Monday evening, writes Norway Today. After that, admission to Drammen hospital awaits.

Was declared personal bankruptcy

Jan Hanvold has a varied background as a businessman and itinerant preacher. In 1989, he founded the Vision Bible Center (VBC), which was to carry out missionary activities and the distribution of Bibles in Eastern Europe under the concept name Bibelen For Alle, according to Wikipedia.

The businesses gradually got out of control, and ended in a series of bankruptcies in 1989. Hanvold was declared personally bankrupt, received bankruptcy quarantine and was sentenced to 120 days in prison, of which 45 days were suspended.

In 2003, Jan Hanvold established the Christian TV channel Visjon Norge. In 2016, NRK estimated that Hanvold had also raised over one billion Norwegian kroner through Visjon Norge.
