The company Norwegian Sports Travel AS is bankrupt. The company reports this itself its pages late Tuesday evening.
– The board of Norwegian Sports Travel AS has today, after today’s board meeting, had to take the difficult decision to file for tender/bankruptcy.
– The company’s management and board have been working for a long time with the liquidity problems the company has had since Covid-19, they write.
Since Tuesday afternoon, Nettavisen has tried to get in touch with general manager Thomas Lein, but has not received a reply.
On its own website, the company referred to itself as Norway’s largest supplier of football trips to Liverpool FC’s home matches. However, the pandemic years 2020 and 2021 were a severe financial downturn for the company. The turnover plunged from over NOK 20 million in 2019 to NOK 459,000 in 2021, admittedly somewhat affected by the fact that the 2021 accounts cover only half a year, as a result of a change in reporting, wrote Romerikes Blad 10 January this year.
The background to the local newspaper’s case at the time was that both the chairman, board member and auditor had resigned from the company during December and January.
At the time, managing director Lein denied that the company was threatened with bankruptcy.
– The company has little short-term debt, and has put in place a long-term agreement with the main supplier in the UK to ensure continued operations, financial security and to bring the company into the red, Lein told RB.
Now the tone is completely different:
– Work has been done over a long period to find new owners or fresh capital for the company, unfortunately the previous or current board has not succeeded in this after turning over every stone and working day and night until today, the company writes on Tuesday evening .
The company had over 20,000 followers on Facebook, and there was nothing to indicate bankruptcy there on Tuesday afternoon, when Nettavisen checked in. The page was taken down on Tuesday evening.

– We want to thank all our 13,500 current and former customers as well as our wonderful partners for the trips we have had together and for all the wonderful feedback we have received from you, they conclude.
