Last fall, Emil Iversen and his girlfriend Bettina Burud moved into a house outside Trondheim.
They became a couple several years ago but made their relationship public in 2023.
The couple has received a lot of attention in their home country. Partly because of Iversen’s success, the out-and-out hero who won World Cup gold in the five-mile in Oberstdorf in 2021, but also because of Burud’s background.
Bettina Burud inherited the daily chain Kiwi from her father in 2011 and became Norway’s youngest billionaire when he died in a boating accident. Today, she is one of the country’s 400 richest people.
“It’s been incredibly cool”
In an interview with Address newspaper says the 27-year-old that her interest in cross-country skiing is quite limited. When she started dating Iversen, she therefore, for obvious reasons, had no idea who he was.
– I had no relationship with Emil. So for me everything has been incredibly cool and him being a world champion in cross-country skiing is just absolutely amazing. I had no idea who Emil was except that he was a very nice guy. I don’t place importance on the technical, I focus on the person. If you are sad or disappointed, then we talk about it, she says.
Emil Iversen, who had a hard time in cross-country during the past year, has lost his place in the national team and is now running his own business.
The goal is the WC at home in 2025.
