According to Dagbladet’s information, Pakistani police believe that the man must have taken part in a shooting incident on Tuesday morning this week.
Dagbladet has gained access to a report that was submitted that morning to the police in Dinga, a town in the Gujrat district of Punjab.
Here it emerges that four men, two of whom have been named, allegedly appeared in a car and fired several shots. One man is said to have been killed and another injured, according to the report.
Dagbladet has been in contact with the local police station in Dinga, which confirms the incident and the names of the two named suspects.
Mujahid Abbas, spokesman for the police in Dinga, also confirms that at least one of them is a Norwegian citizen.
– This is wrong
The two men are brothers, according to Dagbladet’s knowledge. One of them has a residential address in Eastern Norway.
– This is wrong. Nothing has happened and must be rumors put out to harm us, says the son of the suspected Norwegian-Pakistani to Dagbladet.
He is said to have been in contact with one of the two suspects in the case.
– This is a country with a lot of corruption. If this had happened, we would have been arrested a long time ago, one of the accused is said to have told his son.
– It’s just the sleet. These are people who want to damage our reputation, says the son.
Unknown to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Kripos
Dagbladet has been in contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOF). They are not familiar with the matter.
The incident is also unknown to Kripos, which is the first instance in cases where Norwegians are suspected, charged or wanted for offenses abroad.
