Norwegian Holmenkollen World Cup Races Postponed Due to Extreme Weather Conditions

This afternoon the World Cup would resume after the WC.

But in the Norwegian Holmenkollen there is dense fog, rain, strong wind and plus temperatures, which means that the ladies’ 15 kilometer distance is postponed until tomorrow at 12.30 instead. The men’s race is moved to 15.30.

The announcement came less than an hour before the start of the competition.

“Could have gone badly”

– I don’t think everyone would have been able to stay on their feet today, it could have gone quite badly. You can’t see the paintings either, so it would have been extremely unfair, says Elvira Öberg.

Öberg still believes that the conditions would have suited her perfectly.

Listen to her thoughts on it in the player above.

Distance, mass start and mixed relays are on the schedule this weekend.

– It will be a very tough weekend, says Öberg.
