Can’t bear to read crime books because they overflow with blood, violence and bestial murders? “Cosy crime” has long done well abroad. Now it may be Norway’s turn.

– For me, crime is about solving mysteries and using your head, not about violence.
That’s what crime writer and former head of the police, Hanne Kristin Rohde, says. She writes crime books without so much blood, gore and cruelty. The genre is often called cosy crime. It has long been a resounding success in markets that are often trendsetters, such as England and the USA. Now the genre is also big in Sweden.
