Norwegian Club Ålesund Backs Away from Plans for Goal Music After Criticism from Supporters

The Norwegian team Ålesund, to which the Swede David Fällman belongs, is doing the club’s second consecutive season in the Norwegian top league, the Eliteserien, this year. Tomorrow, Monday, awaits the premiere against Vålerenga at home at Color Line Stadium, and before the clash the club initially had plans to play music after potential goals in the match.

Now Ålesund chooses to back away from it – after sharp criticism from supporters.

“The signals from Storm and Ålesund Support have been clear, they don’t want music after that the immediate cheering and singing from the supporters has calmed down. It must be said that the club has also received a lot of positive feedback from supporters who want to test new concepts at the stadium, but as a club we still choose to wait with the introduction of goal music until we have started a good and constructive dialogue between supporters, players and the club”, writes the Norwegian club on Facebook.

Recently wrote Ole Kristiseter, chairman of Ålesund Support, the following to NRK about the club’s plan to use music at goals:

We are the ones who set the mood in the stadium. That they choose to run over it is like pissing on us supporters,” he wrote.
