Polish police have launched an investigation after a Norwegian citizen died in hospital shortly after being taken care of by police in Wroclaw.
Polish police state in a press release on Saturday that the man died in hospital after the police arrested him late on Friday evening.
Communications adviser Jonas Christoffersen in Kripos confirms the death to NTB.
– Relatives have been notified of the death, says Christoffersen, who refers to the Polish police for further statements on the case.
Polish police state that the public prosecutor’s office was immediately notified after the death, which, among other things, will be widely investigated by the police’s internal investigators to clarify the circumstances.
– Preliminary analyzes of the case have so far found no irregularities in the actions that were taken, says the statement from the police in Wroclaw.
The public prosecutor’s office has decided that the Norwegian will undergo an autopsy.
Press officer Henrik Hoel in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says they are not familiar with the case.
