Artist and DJ Mikkel Christiansen (30) is best known as one half of the Broiler duo. But the 30-year-old from Drammen has also noticed both in the media and on social media with his wild income, and not least his shocking consumption.
When Christiansen guested on the NRK podcast «Millionaire brain» last year, the 30-year-old said that his monthly income could be up to NOK 250,000.

Christiansen’s voracious consumption has now led to the artist launching his own series on TikTok, “Mio is an idiot”, where he talks about various purchases and expenses he has had over the years.
Earlier this week, the artist shared a video clip in which he claims he received a shocking water bill of close to NOK 100,000.

Shocking water price
The outrageous sum must have come after the artist chose to leave the water feature on for a whole year straight. The reason behind the choice was because his old cat liked to drink running water.
– I knew that water was expensive, but I never thought it would cost…, says Christiansen at the beginning and continues:
– When my old cat was alive, it liked to drink running water, so I left the tap on for a whole year straight, and it cost me NOK 91,465, he says shockingly.

Furthermore, the 30-year-old said that perhaps two thousand kroner of the bill was for emptying rubbish bins, but that he was still shocked by the bill.
Mikkel Christiansen has not yet responded to Nettavisen’s inquiries.
– Poor impulse control
As mentioned, Christiansen has noted for his high consumption. When he guested on the NRK podcast «Millionaire brain», where Christian Strand gets the recipe from young millionaires, he could reveal how much he earns from music.
Christiansen said that he could get NOK 75,000 for one million plays when he started with Russian songs, but that today it is around NOK 40-45,000 for the same number of plays.

When asked what he earns monthly now for all the songs that are out, the artist answered between NOK 100,000 and 150,000.
In total for all projects, the monthly income can be up to NOK 250,000.
He could also say that during the interview he had NOK 500,000 in his current account. When Strand asked what it is like to have so much in the current account, he replied as follows:
– It is tempting for someone who has poor impulse control. It’s easy to get the urge to buy things I shouldn’t. I’m probably one of those who visit this podcast who is the worst at managing money. I’m good at earning them, but bad at managing them afterwards.
He also made no secret of the fact that he is quite materialistic, and that it was part of the motivation for him to start making Russian songs.
