Both arrivals and departures at several Norwegian airports are characterized by two new – and until now unknown – airlines.
The appealing Christmas names “X-mas Airlines” and “julefly” almost sound like they were pulled from an atmospheric Christmas film straight into airports all over the country.
– It will last until Christmas, reveals Avinor.
Fictional
– We try to do something pleasant for the passengers. It’s just to create a Christmas atmosphere, says communication advisor at Avinor, Ylva Celius Trulsen, to Dagbladet.
All the flights are nevertheless fictitious, and have no real function for the passengers, emphasizes Trulsen in Avinor.

She mentions the following cities with associated main airports as affected by the stunt: Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim, Bodø, Kristiansand and Evenes.
Not the first time
Nor is it the first time that Avinor wants to give passengers a little extra Christmas atmosphere on the way home or on the way out.
– We have tried a few different options before, but not exactly this, she adds.
