Actor Tommy Karlsen Sandum has died, aged 48. He was found dead in his home in Oslo on Tuesday.

The family confirms the death to NRK.
– We are devastated. Tommy was inalienable to us. Now we ask for peace in our grief, says brother Raymond Karlstad.

The cause of death is currently unknown.
Sandum was best known for his roles as Proffen in the films about “Pelle and Proffen” in the 90s and as Arne in the TV series “Lilyhammer”, which ran from 2012 to 2014.

He has also had several supporting roles in series such as “The third eye” and “Hotel Cæsar”, as well as in films such as “Villmenn” and “Nothing to laugh at”. In addition, he lent his voice to a wide range of cartoons, acted in plays and also read audio books.

In front of NRK, actor Håvard Bakke (49), who played Pelle in the films about “Pelle og Proffen”, shares some warm words about Sandum.
– This is an incredibly sad day. I have lost one of my best friends of 25 years, and someone with whom I shared a very unique story since we were teenagers.

– He had a large circle around him who were terribly fond of him. Tommy was a guy that was easy to like, he says, and adds that the death came as a shock to him.
