Norway’s foreign trade balance recorded a surplus in August

Norwegian The foreign trade balance recorded a surplus of 42.58 billion kroons (4.2 billion euros) in August, compared to a deficit of 3.62 billion kroons (355.7 million euros) in the corresponding period last year, according to the State Statistics Office.

The foreign trade balance was also in surplus in July, amounting to 42.2 billion kroons.

The surplus in August was driven by a sharper increase in exports relative to imports.

In August, Norwegian exports increased by 96.9% year-on-year and imports by 17.3%.

Meanwhile, month-on-month, the country’s exports and imports increased by 7.7% and 12.2%, respectively, in August.
