In just one week, Norway and Alessandra Mele (20) will enter the big Eurovision Song Contest stage, as the first country in the first semi-final.
I believe in a Norwegian victory
Whether there will be a final place on Norway’s great hope remains to be seen, but the artist herself reveals that she is very satisfied with the show she will convince Europe with.
The 20-year-old had his first stage test on Sunday.
– I think it went really well. It is so much fun to have the opportunity to do this. I’m really looking forward to doing it again and being able to test the technique one more time. It is the small details that have to be taken care of, and I have great faith that we will be able to do that, she tells Dagbladet.
– Didn’t know it was illegal
It is a slightly different show than from the MGP final, in February, the TV viewers will be served next week. Among other things, a new costume.
On Eurovision live blog during rehearsals on Sunday, the new outfit is described as a fabulous metallic bustier, with clear shoulders and a long black cape.
The style from the Norwegian final has been retained, but you can clearly see a new and upgraded outfit. Among other things, the costume has become brighter, and the gold details have been given an overhaul.
Alessandra has continued with dancers in her number, but has replaced the dancers themselves. As in Trondheim, in Liverpool they will also have large light sticks with them on stage.
Those who hoped for pyrotechnics during Norway’s performance will probably be disappointed now. Furthermore, it is confirmed that flames, smoke and golden rain will not be used in Liverpool either.
Warning the fans
MGP CEO Stig Karlsen can tell Dagbladet that they still have some work to do, but that they are in a good place after the first review.
– Everything is in the details now. There are adjustments to the cinematography, lighting, sound and the actual performance of Alessandra and the dancers.
– We are here to reach the top of the results list, and that naturally means that we have great faith that we will qualify for the final. Now work is being done to improve the performance and TV production, as well as to create as much attention as possible around Alessandra in Europe, Karlsen continues.
And the “Queen of Kings” has received attention. At the time of writing, there are only two contributions (Sweden and Italy) that have more plays on Spotify than Norway on Spotify.
Alessandra’s sample is also the most viewed on TikTok, and the one with the most likes. On Tuesday afternoon, the first sample to Norway was seen by 2.4 million and received almost 200,000 likes.
– A great guy
– I really appreciate all the nice feedback I get from everyone who follows me. It means so much. I’m really looking forward to feeling the energy that comes from the audience and fans when the semi-final finally arrives, says Alessandra to Dagbladet.
Karlsen, for his part, calls it a complete success.
– The good numbers from streaming services, YouTube and social media are a sign of quality that gives a good indication of potential within the competition.
When asked if the 20-year-old feels the nerves ahead of the live broadcasts, she replies as follows:
– It goes really well. I try to concentrate on what I have to do, and above all I am looking forward to being on stage again. So I know that the nerves will come when it really gets close, but that’s completely normal.
Norway is first out of all 37 entries during this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Revealing secret
Alessandra will fight for one of the ten final tickets given in the first semi-final. The big favorites Loreen (39) for Sweden and Käärijä (29) for Finland are also competing there.
