Norway, Sweden and Denmark have cut almost all infection control. They are very different from the rest of the world.

The Scandinavians have put away bandages and the meter no longer applies. But in the rest of the world, completely different rules apply.

There was a good atmosphere in Oslo when the last corona measures disappeared on 25 September.

The reopening of Norway on 25 September was historic. Virtually all coronary restrictions were removed. The exception is the entry restrictions, which will be removed more gradually.

Norway has simply returned to normal. Denmark and Sweden have done the same. Denmark was first out, on 10 September, while Sweden on 29 September followed the two Nordic neighbors.

The main reason why the Scandinavian countries were able to reopen society is the high vaccination rate. 91 percent of all people over the age of 16 have received at least one vaccine dose in Norway. 67 percent of the entire population, including all children, are fully vaccinated. This number is on the rise, as more young people will soon receive their second dose.

The Scandinavian countries also have control over the number of coronary heart disease patients in hospitals.

But the Nordic normal is far from normal in large parts of the world. Norway, Sweden and Denmark have become different countries in the context of the corona.

Admittedly, the health authorities still recommend that you wash your hands often, and that you stay at home and get tested for symptoms of respiratory disease. You must still be in isolation if you are diagnosed with covid-19.

Nevertheless, many foreigners who come to Norway and the other Scandinavian countries will experience this part of the world as different.
