The case is updated.

After several chilly weeks, milder weather is on its way to Southern and Eastern Norway. A yellow danger warning for ice and difficult driving conditions has been issued for parts of Agder and Østlandet on Wednesday.

“There is a local danger of ice and slippery roads due to rain freezing on cold ground and the transition to mild weather,” writes the Meteorological Institute.

This can create locally difficult driving conditions on the roads. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute recommends that people spend extra time on transport and driving, use the right tyres, drive according to the conditions and consider finding the bumps.

At 7 o’clock there is currently good flow in the morning traffic in Eastern Norway, reports NTB.

On the E18 near Grimstad, a car is said to have spun around in the westbound direction at Trolldalen at 6.30am. No injuries have been reported. Slippery road surfaces may be the cause of the accident, according to the police in Agder.

Several roads closed

Southern and Eastern Norway are not alone in being able to get a lot of weather on Wednesday. A large low pressure is expected to affect most of the mainland. Extra bad weather has been forecast, especially in northern Norway. Among other things, a full storm has been forecast in some places.

In Finnmark, a total of 18 sections are closed, while four have convoy driving. The mountain passes Sennalandet, Ifjordfjellet, Kongsfjordfjellet and Båtsfjordfjellet are all closed due to storms, report NRK.

Further south in the country, county road 51 Valdresflye in Innlandet was closed due to storms just after midnight. A new assessment will be made at 10 am on Wednesday.

The West Road Traffic Center reports strong winds and snow drifts in the mountains on Wednesday morning. There is a risk that there will be queue driving both on national road 7 over Hardangervidda and county road 13 over Vikafjellet.

Ferje struggled and made a hole in a shop in Ålesund

In Brønnøy in Nordland, a moving truck was blown off the road by the strong wind on the night of Wednesday. The two people in the car escaped uninjured.

On Sunnmøre, Fjord1 reports that the ferry connection between Hareid and Sulesund is closed due to the weather conditions. Norled has canceled the section between Festøya and Solavågen. Several other ferry routes are also postponed.

A ferry has run aground at the harbor in Ålesund and hit a shop, which left a hole in the wall. Sunnmørsposten writes that the ferry MS Hjørundfjord has suffered and punched a hole in the wall of the Kiwi shop by the quay.

– No one was injured, beyond the wall of the Kiwi building, says operations manager Tor Andre Gram Franck to the newspaper.

The police received a report about the incident at 5 o’clock and a tugboat was called out.

NRK writes that the ferry was moored again at 7 o’clock, but the towboat is still on site to monitor the situation.
